Easier to adopt toddler instead of infant? - Adoption.com Forums

I think you'll find in domestic adoption that adopting a newborn is much more common. There are also situations where you might be able to adopt an older baby (2-12mos old). I would highly suggest you read information concerning the adoption of toddlers before you make up your mind.
Many times, adopting a child who's older than, say 18mos can be a challenge. This isn't to say it's always this way; but it's not uncommon to have attachment disorders in children this young.
And, should you have challenges, the younger the child is when receiving help, the better the chances the child can heal.
Please be sure as well, that you pursue what you truly want. If an infant is what you truly want in your heart, go for it. If a toddler is what you truly desire, pursue this route.
Best of luck....

Sincerely,

Linny
