Whether honeymooning or just looking for a unique weekend retreat, bed and breakfasts will usually ?fit the bill?. Most bed and breakfast accommodations offer privacy, fun events, recreation areas and the unusual shops that are filled with the wonders of the area.

One of my favorite locations is the Treasure Island Bed and Breakfast located in beautiful and scenic Talladega, Alabama. Sitting on the shore of Lake Martin the scenery is breathtaking, and offers fishing tournaments, water sports, boating and golfing.

Lake Logan Martin boasts the fact that it is one of the largest man-made lakes in the United States with over 750 mile of beautiful wooded shoreline. (When Martin Dam was completed in 1926, Lake Martin was the largest man-made lake in the world.)

The Treasure Island Bed and Breakfast area has something for everyone, from water activities to hiking, quaint antique shops and the close by Talladega racetrack for car racing enthusiasts.One awakes to the beautiful site of Lake Martin with birds singing; at your leisure you can enjoy an excellent breakfast to provide energy for the upcoming day.

The evening can be spent fine dining in nearby Birmingham or at an eatery closer to your room accommodations. Food in Alabama is an art that is not mastered in any other location. Everything from ?down-home? Bar-B-Q to fresh caught catfish abounds. Muffaletta sandwiches, fried green tomatoes, greens and sweet potato pie get the taste buds going!

However, one may be tired from the day?s activities and would prefer to ?eat in?. Restaurant delivery is a fine option for the weary.
